Will the check by in my name or a body shop’s name?

I have Farm Bureau insurance.

It varies. Sometimes it’s in your name and the body shop’s name and sometimes it’s either/or.

Claims check will normally be made payable to YOU and your LIENHOLDER or LOSS PAYEE. If you own the auto “free and clear”, the check will be made payable to you, and then you will pay the body shop your deductible.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

I’ve had it done in a variety of ways: sometimes directly to the repair shop, sometimes to me and the repair shop, and sometimes directly to me.

I take my car to an authorized repair shop, they fax the details to the insurance company and have the repair work approved. They repair the car, I pay my deductible and the insurance company pays the balance. Not all insurance company work that way.
