can anyone ride with a truck driver or is it an insurance risk for trucking company?

my boyfriend just got his cdl and would like to to maybe accompany him on some cross country trips. i couldn’t imagine the company he works for letting that happen.

It depends on each particular company’s policy and/or its insurance company’s policy.

Most trucking companys don’t allow riders along in the cab, if there were some sort of accident, you would not have any type of coverage. Some trucking companies allow teams that are husband/wife, or boyfriend/girlfriend to work together. Would you consider getting your CDL, then you can work together and both earn money?? Just a thought. Otherwise, it is pretty unlikely you would be able to ride along
