You would have to call your ins and ask, then they would file a claim against he other party on your behalf.

if the semi-truck was at fault then you should be able to file a claim against their insurance company. as much as I am annoyed by uninsured drivers since i pay my car insurance even tho i would rather not but i have to contend with drivers like you. no car insurance no car. what would have done if it was your fault and there were injuries-big trouble- get insurance or do not drive.

If you had insurance when you were hit you can file a claim with your old insurance company. If you didn’t have insurance at the time of the accident then the accident was automatically your fault no matter who caused the accident. My niece once pulled out in front of a car, caused an accident, but it wasn’t her fault because the driver who hit her didn’t have a current drivers license, same with insurance. Check with your lawyer to be sure.

Yes, call his insurance and have them come to you and estimate the damage, you dont need to give them any info about you not having insurance right now…

They will deal directly with you. (my own experience TWICE)

you live in michigan and they have strange no fault laws there;

since you no longer have insurance on your auto, your old company is not going to help you;

i believe all they will owe is max of $500 for repairs; from what i can remember, michigan can only pay your deductible and your insurance company pays the rest; but since you have no insurance, not sure of the outcome; could be with no insurance, they pay nothing?

but since you were hit by a semi-truck, this would be a commercial policy; so the rules may be different;

the commercial policy adjuster will explain the laws in your state;

if not satisfied, then contact an attorney for legal advice;
