So last summer, I broke my ankle pretty bad, displaced fracture and at the time I had limited insurance. They claimed to pay up to 1k in ER visit, 250 for anaestesia, 2k in doctor visits, and up to 20,000 for secondary care. This happened last august and they JUST paid the ER 1000 dollars after I had to file some paperwork. This company is a subsidiary of Aetna, and instead of denying claims they just ignore them. At the time I was out of work for 4 and a half months because my job involved me walking and my car was a manual transmission. Usually they auto deducted my payments out of my paycheck every week but I had to pay them by credit card while I was not working. I have a receipt for my payments all the way to 11/9. They sent me a partial denial of my doctors bill on 11/16/07 because I was not up to date with my insurance and could no longer afford insurance as I just got a job back. My questions are how do I get them to pay and is physical therapy considered secondary care?
The company is SRC, its quoted on the back of the card “SRC, an Aetna Company”, I did everything the policy told me to do, I went to their website and used the approved doctors on their website, Your right on the ‘limit’ed part but still they have to pay for what I bought into, I went to the physicans that were on their webpage, I went to the Physical Therapist on their web page, The only thing that wasnt there was the aneasthsia but its in the policy that I purchased for 250 dollars they cover. (which is definitely limited.) The thing is they havent denied the claims, they are just ignoring them. I have denied claim letters from after my insurance ran out for treatment after 11/9 but nothing before that. It took the hospital ER calling me and me calling them 10xs in 7 months for them to even get that payment out
And its not workmans comp, god i wish it happened at work.
and it wasnt sold to me as an individual its from my previous job that i had before i broke my ankle. its one of those pay us 80 dollars a month and we will insure you, (After all this I did my research and found out that you can get really decent insurance for this cost)

I was in an auto accident in 2006 in Illinois. The auto insurance will only pay $50,000.00 per person. My bills are over $54,000.00 already. I will be having more bills if I have another surgery. I have had two surgeries already. As it sits right now, my claim should be worth $175,000.00 to $200,000.00 for bills and pain and suffering. My question is…Can’t I put a lien on his parents house to compensate for my injuries? The driver was 19 at the time and he was driving his parents vehicle and it is his parents auto insurance that is involved. He was a drunk driver and hit me in the rear and hurt all four of us in the vehicle. His parents own the car and I know they own their home in Illinois. I just don’t think it is fair that I have all this pain and suffering and have to pay bills out of my pocket. I have to walk with a walker and Cain now after the accident. Does anyone know if I can put a lien on his parents house and what kind of lien would it be called? Thanks
Sorry I didn’t mention this but, I did have an attorney. The Attorney last week fired himself without giving me a reason. I think it is because the money is maxed out with the insurance. I am not sure. He was my attorney from 6/23/2006 to 03/03/2008. Plus, Illinois has a two year statute of limitation to file a law suit. I LIVE IN UTAH. I was only passing through Illinois on my way home to Utah. I tried calling other Attorneys in Illinois and they won’t take the case because they say it is to close to the statute of limitation. I don’t know what to do.

I got in an accident and had to go to the hospital. My car insurance said they will pay for the hospital expenses. I have gotten two of the bills so far but there are more to come.

If I send in the two bills I have received to the insurance company to take care of while the other bills trickle in will the claim remain open so they will still handle it?

I guess what I am asking is will they assume that once these bills are paid off that they are done with their responsibility? How does this work?

Thanks in advance.
car532- Wisconsin, my fault, medical covered by insurance. The question isnt whether my insurance will cover the expenses, they will, but rather if I could send my bills into the insurance agency at different times as they come in the mail. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks.

I was in an auto accident with my sister and nephew back in January. My sister was driving, my nephew in the back seat and myself in the front passenger seat. While driving down the street. This truck come speeding in reverse down a private drive way and slams into us. Anyway… The pip ran out on the insurance (Nationwide) and my pain specialist doctor tells me that my insurance (Medicare / Medicaid) wont cover the remaining balance because its due to an accident.

My lawyer tells me that Medicare or Medicaid will pay for the remaining balance. Is this true or is my doctor trying to pull a fast one?

I live in Kentucky.
The case is still open. I don’t know if a settlement can be reached. We most likely will have to file a suit.

I was in an automobile accident about 9 months ago and am in the process of filing a claim with the insurance company of the driver who was at fault they have instructed me to remit all medical documents including the billing information, since I have health insurance my bills have all been paid and it shows this on the bills I am going to send the claims adjuster now my question is this: on one bill it shows $2000.00 as the total billed and it shows that my heath insurance has paid $200.00 and it also says paid in full, now can I black out the amount that my health insurance provider has paid leaving only the total billed or is that not legal. The reason I ask is I am assuming that the claims adjuster will base the settlement off of the dollar amount of my medical expenses. any info would be much appreciated. Thank you

I used my work health insurance, but I will have to go after the Car insurance company to pay the bill. How do I do that?

My family and I were hit in an automobile accident by a drunk driver. He also fled the scene, but was caught by a police officer who saw the entire accident. He had insurance. We all suffured back, neck and head injuries. Between us all, we need therapy, surgery, nurological work etc. Yes, all expensive stuff. None of us have health insurance and we are suffering. It’s pain pills everyday. The driver had automobile insurance. My question is, will his auto insurance pay our medical bills as we go through the medical things we need? Or do insurance companies simply wait until the “settlement phase” to pay one lump sum? None of the doctors we need to see will see us since we have no insurance and the treatments will costs thousands. What do we do here? Don’t they have to pay, the accident was 100% the other driver’s fault. He ran a red light, T boned us doing 45 MPH was completly drunk, open container, then fled.
